A multi-year extension of the technology consulting partnership between the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and TCS is also signed
CHICAGO – The Bank of America Chicago Marathon and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting, and business solutions organization, launched the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Mobile App, powered by TCS, for the Sunday, October 9 event. The app is a cornerstone of a longstanding partnership between the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and TCS, which has been extended through 2025.
The 2022 Bank of America Chicago Marathon app provides a range of valuable, race-specific features for marathon runners and spectators. Timing mats strategically placed around the course combined with cutting-edge TCS technology empower the Bank of America Chicago Marathon app to deliver accurate runner tracking and finish-line predictions. This year, a new version of the mobile app also allows fans to:
Track an unlimited number of runners
Experience the course through interactive maps
Easily access the schedule of events
Receive important event communications and alerts
Find information about elite athletes
Create digital cheer cards that will be displayed at mile 24, spurring runners on to the finish line.
The mobile app for the 2022 event is available now for iPhone and Android devices on the App Store and Google Play, respectively.

TCS began a strategic partnership with the Bank of America Chicago Marathon in 2010 with a commitment to making the marathon one of the most technologically advanced races in the world. The partnership grew in 2012 with the introduction of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon mobile app, powered by TCS. In 2021, more than 175,000 people downloaded the mobile app and created 52,000 digital cheer cards to encourage the thousands of runners on the streets of Chicago.
