(DULUTH, MINN.) — Daniel Kemboi and Rosie Edwards won the 2022 Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon men’s and women’s championships, respectively, on Saturday morning in Duluth.
For Kemboi, who is from Kenya but resides in Coon Rapids, Minn., it was his third first-place finish this calendar year. He ran a time of 1:02:03, which was 18 seconds better than runner-up Kiya Dandena and less than a minute off the event record pace of 1:01:22.
Edwards, meanwhile, won by just 15 seconds as she finished in a time of 1:12:45 ahead of runner-up Elena Hayday, who ran 1:13:00. The time was narrowly off Edwards’ personal record time of 1:12:24 and marks her second half marathon win in the past two years.

There were 7,004 finishers in this year’s Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, which marks the seventh time in the race’s 32-year history it has seen more than 7,000 finishers. With 7,014 official starters, 99.8% of the field successfully made it to the finish line.
