Run to Honor supports Mission 22, Team Red, White & Blue, and America’s Warrior Partnership
SPANISH FORT, AL – Registration is now open for the 2022 Publix Battleship 12K.
The event, which happens annually around Veterans’ Day weekend, began in 2015 to pay tribute to those who defend our freedom and may not have received the heroes’ welcome those returning from WWII did. Veterans, friends, and families of our military continue to support this event and show their appreciation for those that have or continue to fight for our freedom.
“Every day 22 veterans commit suicide,” said Michael Wattigny, Marketing Director for FRESHJUNKIE Racing. “This is a terribly sad and unacceptable number. To raise awareness around this number, registration opens at a deeply reduced rate of $22 for the first 500 runners, and we continue to offer incredible rates for 22 hours.”
The event continues to grow from just under 600 runners in the inaugural year of 2015 to over 2,600 runners in 2021. Participants are encouraged to support our Run To Honor Military Charity Partners during registration. Mission 22, Team RWB and America’s Warrior Partnership are the Battleship 12K Charity Partners. “They all do incredible work for our military community. We are excited to partner with them to tell their story and raise needed funds for their veteran programs.”
