Courses offer the very best of Cleveland

CLEVELAND – (March 8, 2022) – Participants in the 45th Union Home Mortgage Cleveland Marathon will have a change of scenery this year but will still enjoy some of the most noted sights the city and surrounding neighborhoods have to offer.

All races will start and finish at Memorial Plaza in the shadow of the Fountain of Eternal Life statue in downtown Cleveland. Originally dedicated to Korea and Vietnam veterans, the fountain has since been known to recognize any loss of service men or women since 1899. The fountain also has subtle nods to diversity as it represents different cultures, religions and backgrounds.

“We’re pleased to announce the city has approved our courses,” said Ralph Staph, UHM Cleveland Marathon race director. “These events have always highlighted the best of Cleveland, and we are proud to come together in person for another great race in front of this storied monument.”

In addition to Memorial Plaza, the races will offer iconic views of such landmarks as Public Square, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Great Lakes Science Center. Participants will also make their way through the Warehouse District and will again be cheered on by residents of Tremont and folks in the Flats.

The 5k and 10k will be held on Saturday, May 21, and the full and half marathons are scheduled for Sunday, May 22.  Participants are encouraged to secure their entry early and can register here: https://www.clevelandmarathon.com/2022-registration.aspx.
