FALMOUTH, MA (February 1, 2022) – Falmouth Road Race, Inc., organizers of the annual ASICS Falmouth Road Race, one of America’s premier running events, are pleased to announce that the Numbers for Nonprofits (NFNP) charity runner program will be presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.
The NFNP program will celebrate 22 years of supporting Massachusetts-based nonprofit organizations to raise much-needed funds for their respective charities. For the last 20 years the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund have been part of this program, making them Legacy Partners, recruiting an average of 300 charity runners each year.
“Having our NFNP program presented by Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund makes so much sense,” said Scott Ghelfi, president of the Falmouth Road Race board of directors. “For almost two decades, they have been an integral part of the program’s visibility, continually increasing fundraising efforts to support those who are in need. The good that they – and all our nonprofit partners – have been able to do over the years is staggering. We are so proud of the impact,” said Ghelfi.
Since 2000, Falmouth Road Race, Inc. has helped charity partners raise over $50 million and bring awareness to their causes.
“We’re thrilled to be the inaugural presenting sponsor of the ASICS Falmouth Road Race’s Numbers for Nonprofits charity program this year,” said Jan Ross, Assistant Vice President, Running Programs, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. “Dana-Farber and the Falmouth Road Race have been loyal partners for 20 years and it is an honor to play a larger role in this wonderful event.”
This year, 192 Massachusetts-based organizations have been selected to participate in the NFNP program, accounting for nearly 3,500 runners. To view our 2022 partners and learn more about running for one of the participating charity teams, visit falmouthroadrace.com/charity-program.
Runners will toe the line in Woods Hole for the 50th running of the Falmouth Road Race on August 21, 2022.
About the ASICS Falmouth Road Race Numbers for Nonprofits program:
The NFNP program has grown exponentially over the years to include more than 300 different MA-based charity teams since 2000, and over 3,000 runners per year who commit to fundraise and then run the 7-mile course. Each year, the race provides guaranteed entries, with an extended registration deadline, to select Massachusetts-based charities. The charities then recruit runners who solicit donations on their behalf.
