This year, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Atlanta Track Club Foundation collaborated on the Peachtree with a Purpose Official Charity Partner program with non-profit technology partner, GivenGain. Fundraisers and supporters demonstrated their unwavering commitment by raising over $30,000 for local Atlanta charities, highlighting the community’s dedication to making a positive impact and proving that even extreme weather couldn’t dampen their philanthropic fervor.
Ten local charities each selected a passionate runner to champion their cause, raising funds and awareness through their participation in the race. The 10 charities were as follows: Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, Atlanta Track Club Foundation, 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, Empty Stocking Fund, Girls on the Run, Kyle Pease Foundation, Lead Center for Youth (L.E.A.D.), and Piedmont Park Conservancy.
Among the top fundraisers was Allison Dukes, who raised over $10K for Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. “As I work for and volunteer with Atlanta Habitat, I get to see firsthand the impact we make on local families and communities,” said Dukes.
A Global Tool for Change
GivenGain, a non-profit online fundraising platform and the official fundraising partner of the AJC Peachtree Road Race, played a crucial role in establishing the charity program for the event. The platform enables a seamless fundraising experience, empowering participants to make a difference.
“It’s been a tremendous pleasure to work with Atlanta Track Club, Atlanta Track Club Foundation, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution to build a world-class charity program that is just in its infancy. I’m really excited for the future of fundraising around this iconic event,” said Bryan Lively of GivenGain.
The promising start reveals the potential of the charity program, setting the stage for even greater success in the years to come.
