JUNE 17, 2024 – VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA – J&A Racing, the premier racing company in Coastal Virginia, announced a new challenge for participants. The Beach Bum Challenge is a two-race challenge that includes participation in the iconic Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend and the Chartway Virginia Beach 10 Miler.
The Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend, held annually in March in Virginia Beach, is one of the largest and most prestigious races in the country. Runners from all over the country come to participate in this flat and fast course that showcases the beautiful Virginia Beach oceanfront.
The Chartway Virginia Beach 10 Miler is the newest popular race hosted by J&A Racing that takes runners through the scenic neighborhoods of Virginia Beach during Labor Day Weekend. With flat terrain and beautiful views, this race is perfect for celebrating the end of summer and is for runners of all levels.
By completing one of the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon events (Yuengling Shamrock Marathon, Anthem Shamrock Half Marathon or the TowneBank 8K) and the Chartway Virginia Beach 10 Miler or 5K within a calendar year, runners will earn the title of “Beach Bum” and receive a special “cheeky” Beach Bum Challenge medal to commemorate their achievement.

Those who participated in the 2024 Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend are eligible for this year’s Beach Bum Challenge. Once registered for the Chartway Virginia Beach 10 Miler or 5K, they are automatically a Beach Bum Challenge participant.
