10,000 Runners Get Ready to Reimagine the Run in Chicago’s West Side Half Marathon
CHICAGO – The Bank of America Chicago 13.1 returns to the historic parks and boulevards of the city’s West Side on Sunday, June 9. The third annual race builds on the vision to reimagine what running can be in Chicago, offering a weekend of health and wellness-based activities for event participants and community members.
The one-of-a-kind event starts and finishes in Garfield Park with scenic loops through Douglass and Humboldt Parks. Diane Nukuri will take on the Bank of America Chicago 13.1 for the third time, following up her fourth-place finish in the 2022 inaugural event with a win last year in 1:15:25. Nukuri is a three-time Olympian and has finished in the top 10 at the London, Boston, New York and Chicago Marathons. 2023 Chicago 13.1 runner-up Joyline Chemutai will also compete in this year’s event, as will 2023 Chicago 13.1 fourth place finisher Flannery Davis-Love and 2024 Osaka Half Marathon third place finisher Mao Kiyota.
