Introduction: Join the dynamic team at Brooksee, a leader in organizing and managing sporting events. We are seeking a dedicated and technically adept Race Timer to oversee and manage timing systems during our races. This crucial role ensures accurate and reliable race results, enhancing the experience for participants and stakeholders. Job Responsibilities:
◦ Operate and manage race timing equipment during events to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of results.
◦ Monitor data inputs and outputs, swiftly identifying and resolving discrepancies or technical issues.
◦ Coordinate closely with race directors and other event staff to ensure seamless integration of the timing system with race operations.
◦ Participate in pre-race setup and post-race breakdown of timing equipment, often during early morning hours.
◦ Maintain consistent and professional communication with race directors through conference calls and on-site interactions.
◦ Keep meticulous records of race results and timing system operations.
◦ Train and supervise a team of assistant timers or volunteers on race day to ensure efficient operations.
◦ Stay informed about the latest technologies in race timing and recommend system enhancements.
Qualifications:
◦ Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
◦ Proficiency in technical systems, particularly timing and data management.
◦ Excellent problem-solving abilities for immediate technical issue resolution.
◦ Ability to work under pressure and adapt to the dynamic environment of live events.
◦ Professional communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with diverse groups.
◦ Experience in managing or coordinating live events, preferably in sports or race settings.
◦ Technical certification or degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
Work Schedule:
◦ This position requires the availability to work weekends, holidays, and early mornings to ensure race setup is completed prior to event start times.
◦ The role is based on-site at our Pleasant Grove office and requires on-site presence at race locations during events.
