Boston Athletic Association grant program kicks-off second year of community support
BOSTON – The Spring 2024 round of the Boston Athletic Association Gives Back Grant Program opens for applications from February 26 to March 8. The program supports nonprofits that advance the B.A.A.’s mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports, especially running, in order to build healthy communities.
In the program’s inaugural year, 27 organizations across Massachusetts received more than
$268,000 to support a wide range of health and wellness programs. Recipients included Girls on the Run Greater Boston, The Heather Abbott Foundation, Achilles International – Boston, Stride for Stride, PIONEERS Run Crew and Mental Health Collaborative, Inc. Grants from $5,000-
$15,000 are available.
Nicole Juri, Director of Development at the B.A.A. said, “As we enter our second year of the
B.A.A. Gives Back Grants we are committed to sharing this funding opportunity as broadly as we can to relevant organizations across the state of Massachusetts. Building on the success of 2023 where we supported 27 organizations with their health and wellness programming, we are excited about supporting new and current partners with their 2024 projects that provide valuable resources to their local communities.

Entry Criteria:
The competitive application process is open to all nonprofit organizations that meet the following criteria:
Organization is a registered 501(c)(3) or a public agency. Organization is not political.
The organization’s program advances the B.A.A.’s mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports, especially running, in order to build healthy communities.
The organization is located in and serves residents of Massachusetts. Organizations are eligible to receive funding once per calendar year.
Unsuccessful applicants who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply again in future rounds.
