Denver, CO – The Denver Colfax Marathon, presented by Cigna Healthcare, is excited to reveal the official 2024 race weekend medals. The city’s only marathon weekend, which features eight different races over two days, will take place May 17-19, 2024. This year, the race day medals celebrate Denver’s finest landmarks and awards runners a piece of their own history: completing a race at a mile high in Colorado.
“Our medals are so unique, they each tell a story,” said Andrea Dowdy, CEO of the Denver Colfax Marathon. “They are more than a showcase of accomplishment; each medal is a piece of artwork that our runners proudly display year after year.”
The Denver Colfax Marathon is one of the only races in the country that highlights the actual racecourse on the medal. The medal is a fun way for runners to remember their race day experience by having a vivid reminder with the medal artwork.
“We have one of the most scenic courses in the country,” Dowdy said. “From our spectacular mountain views to the iconic Denver landmarks, we love celebrating our city and our runners in each medal that we create.”
Each medal comes with a stand built into it, allowing runners to display their medal on a desktop, with the option of still hanging it on a door or a knob. There’s also a removeable charm/mini-medal that runners can clip on a backpack or use as a zipper pull.
The Marathon, Urban 10 Miler and Marathon Relay medal features fine details of the Colorado emblem to remind runners they achieved their goal while running at a mile high in the state. It also features an aerial view of Empower Field at Mile High, the Ferris Wheel from Elitch Gardens, the Clocktower on 16th Street Mall, the Denver skyline and mountains, along with several of Denver’s unique bridges.
While the Half Marathon medal also celebrates running at a mile high with the Colorado emblem, the highlight of the Half Marathon is running through the Denver Zoo. The medal showcases a lion to commemorate the race and the incredible opportunity of running alongside animals through a zoo. The medal also features the 16th Street Clocktower, City Park’s iconic lake and fountain, along with the Denver skyline and mountains.
Registration is open for the 2024 Denver Colfax Marathon. The weekend is Denver’s largest running event every year. The 2024 race weekend is expected to welcome over 21,000 runners and more than 50,000 people to the city in May. To register for a race, visit www.runcolfax.org.
