Producers of beloved road race gift funds raised across five local organizations and programs
FALMOUTH, Mass. – Falmouth Road Race, Inc. had a record-breaking year across the board, with top times at the road race and best-ever fundraising numbers. Their successful fundraising allowed the organization to award a total $218,997.54 in grants this past year, which includes $93,455.54 being awarded to five local organizations and programs this winter. Recipients included the Falmouth Public Schools, and Tommy’s Place, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit that owns and operates year-round magical vacation homes for kids fighting cancer in Falmouth, MA and Centerville, MA on Cape Cod, among others. This year’s grants bring the total donated by the Falmouth Road Race, Inc. to $5,185,817. “The School Department’s relationship with the Falmouth Road Race and the grants they have gifted to our schools plays an important role in transforming the education and extracurricular activities for our students,” said Lori Duerr, superintendent at Falmouth Public Schools. “Through these initiatives, we have been emphasizing the importance of physical activity, teamwork, inclusion, overall well-being, and the importance of giving back to our community. The lasting impact of these contributions extends far beyond the immediate benefits, leaving a lasting mark on the educational experience of students in the Falmouth Public Schools.”

Other key moments from this past year included:
● The 2023 ASICS Falmouth Road Race raised a record-breaking $7,226,357.05 for local charities, bringing the total overall funds raised since 2000 to $63.7 million.
● The 2023 ASICS Falmouth Road Race had 3,800 charity runners and 201 charity teams take part in the event, contributing to the record-breaking amount raised.
● Falmouth Road Race, Inc. awarded a record-breaking $101,000 in scholarships to local students, bringing the grand total in scholarships awarded since the inception of the scholarship program to $370,000.
