Annual race is back for another year of fun with the addition of new race day experiences, apparel and finisher awards
KEY WEST, Fla. — The Key West Half Marathon & Runfest, rated a top 10 half marathon by USA Today, is back on Jan. 14, 2024. The event has unveiled new race day shirts that feature artwork by local artist Taylor Hale. Participants will also receive a newly designed 2024 race medal at the finish line. Registration is open for all events.
Hale is a native Floridian who draws inspiration from a lifetime on the water in his island hometown of Key Largo, Florida. Hale earned a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2009. The shirts feature beautiful paintings by Hale that resemble the Florida ocean views that are showcased during the Key West Half Marathon & Runfest. Each participant will receive one of these unique race day shirts.
The medal design goes under the sea, with a porthole design that reveals tropical fish in an undersea scape. The ribbon builds on the imagery with coral, kelp and marine life.
The Key West Half Marathon & Runfest is known for being a lively event filled with festivities, which are continuing to expand as they added even more to the 2024 race day. On top of previous race day events, race day will include the Papa’s Pilar Rum Stroll and Key West Beach N’ Beer Mile. The Papa’s Pilar Rum Stroll will take participants across six popular locations in Old Town Key West with a Papa’s Pilar Rum Drink to enjoy at each stop. Participants of the stroll will receive a custom Rum Stroll shirt and rooster wrap. The Beer Mile will feature a run on the beautiful Key West beach with four beer stops along the way. After completing the mile run and tasting four beers, participants will be rewarded with a custom shirt.

It’s incredible seeing the diverse group of people that this event brings together year after year! These new medal and shirt designs will be great momentoes from a fantastic weekend in Key West.”
Some additional features participants can expect to see during race weekend are the Runner’s Meet and Greet, Runner’s Expo, a live concert, an awards party and a raffle with prizes worth up to $3,500. Some of the raffle prizes will include a snorkeling boat trip, sunset boat trip, a variety of restaurant certificates and a grand prize of Elite Caribbean Certificates for two at the Antigua Resort.
This unique race offers participants the opportunity to escape winter and take a race-cation filled with sun and fun in the beautiful Florida Keys. Registration is open for all events.
