Elite field will precede community division at Women’s 6K Festival
CANTON, OHIO –Run to You Racing is pleased to announce the Elite Field for the USATF Women’s 6K National Championship being held in Canton, Ohio. Athletes will be competing for a total prize purse of $21,500 and valuable USATF Running Circuit points on Saturday, July 15th, 2023.
The current Running Circuit top 3 leaders of Jessa Hanson, Nell Rojas, and Emma Hurley will be battling for the title on race day along with other notable contenders including Molly Seidel, Ednah Kurgat, Annie Frisbie, and Molly Grabill. All athlete’s will be chasing the course record of 17:52 which was set in 2022 by Keira D’Amato.
The Championship Event is part of the Women’s 6K Festival – a community 6K run / walk that celebrates Empowerment, Opportunity, and Sisterhood. Vendors, information, and entertainment will surround the finish area as runners complete their race. The Elite Division starts at 8:00am quickly followed by the Community Division. Women of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate and follow in the footsteps of America’s best runners. The course is a fast point-to-point circuit and winds through the northern neighborhoods before a final mile downhill finish at Centennial Plaza in Downtown Canton.
