OCTOBER 31, 2022 – VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA – Over 4,500 participants trick or treated their way at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront during the Old Point National Bank Wicked 10K presented by Bon Secours. Participants made their way up and down Atlantic Avenue before turning on the boardwalk in costume. They were greeted along the way with Thriller Dancers, Zombies and treats at every mile. The party continued as the finishers made their way on to the beach for a post-race party with beers from Blue Moon and Wasserhund Brewing who introduced their Caramel Apple Seltzer, “And Your Little Dog Too”, warm soup and an energetic music performance from Go Go Gadjet.
“The Wicked 10k Weekend is a favorite for all runners for a reason. There is something in the air that makes it an unforgettable experience and introducing the 5K this year brought a whole new group of Wicked runners for life to the Oceanfront.” says Co-Owner of J&A Racing, Jerry Frostick.
One participant mused “Everything was fantastic from start to finish. A great way to kick off Halloween weekend!”
Harrison R Toney, of Richmond, Virginia, won the Wicked 10K with a finish time of 31:07. The winner of the 10K on the women’s side was Kerri Toney of Richmond, VA. She broke the tape at 37:02.
Tyler Cherwa of Virginia Beach, VA, won the Wicked 5K with a finish time of 17:48. The 5K female winner, Ida L Oesteraas of Virginia Beach finished at 18:55.
