( CLICK ABOVE FOR LOCATIONS )

Here are a few key things you should know for Race Day:

  • Course Marshals are expected to transport themselves to their spot on the route.  Consider bringing a lawn chair to sit in before the runners come by!
  • YOUR JOB AS A COURSE MARSHAL IS TO PROVIDE DIRECTION TO THE RUNNERS – POINT THEM THE CORRECT WAY AND CHEER THEM ON.  IN SOME CASES YOU MAY BE STATIONED AT A POINT WHERE RUNNERS ARE COMING BACK PAST YOU A SECOND TIME!
  • DRESS APPROPRIATELY – we know weather can vary wildly so please ensure you wear layers that you can add on or take off clothing throughout your shift.
  • Familiarize yourself with the race route direction, your location and where the closest washroom might be!
  • Medical Emergency – if you are witness to what seems to be a runner in distress notify a passing bike marshal to call it in. There are roving medical teams so it should not take long to get help. ONLY CALL 911 if you feel it is a life and death situation and require immediate assistance.
  • A Team Captain will be passing by your spot to ensure you have direction on the event, and a reflective vest for your safety.
  • Please leave your reflective vest on the ground if you are not returning to the event site.  Vests can also be turned in to the Volunteer Hospitality Tent Info Table at the event site.
  • Your Team Captain will come by your spot to let you know when you can leave or will let you know in advance when you can leave.
  • CHEER ON OUR RUNNERS  – the best part of the event is cheering on our runners!
